Ali Marie Matthews is an author and bookseller. She particularly loves children's books, especially those with an environmental protection message, or those with strong themes of compassion and respect for all creatures. Her books often center around New York City and Brooklyn animals, as she LOVES "pest" animals: rats, raccoons, and pigeons (and doesn't believe they are pests at all! We all have to live somewhere). She also loves cats, hermit crabs, birds, dogs... you get the idea! She lives in Brooklyn with her tuxedo cat Hei-Bai.
